Been looking at the site since I picked up a used LBGE from a buddy. It came with the nest but I wanted to upgrade to a table. So I call my dad, who lives in NC and tell him about my plan and ask if I can come up and we build the table together, you know a little father/son bonding time. Next thing I know he's on the web-site looking at plans and asking the size of my egg and what size I want the table. Before you know it, he's loading it up in his Honda CRV and bringing it down to Atlanta. My cost? Two slabs of ribs, a beer can chicken, ABTs and some sweet potatoes. Thanks DAD! YOU ROCK!

Nice! Hell of a dad ya got there.
One thing I'd keep an eye on - there are no spaces between the boards that comprise the top and shelf. If those boards swell up they'll expand in the cross grain direction and get wider. If that happens you could have some buckling.

Nice table and badass dad right there! My pops would have come over for the food and watch me figure out which screwdriver was the phillips. Lol
Are you going to stain it? I highly recommend teak oil.Just a hack that makes some $hitty BBQ.... -
Looks great...make sure you've got a good sealer on it and some air between the bottom and the shelf.Green egg, dead animal and alcohol. The "Boro".. TN

Great cook, that's the way to break in a table! Welcome to the forum.Looks good, nice Dad you have there.Noticed your vertical chicken, @Little_Steven does them standing on their head. Although I always spatchcock ours, my son has started doing them upside down on his gasser with great results, even his gasser is hotter at the top than at the grid in an indirect set-up.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

The table looks great! Three cheers for your dad. I like all the space you've got off to the right. You'll appreciate that. My table doesn't have so much space but I wish it did.
