Is this safe?

Before I do the first cook in my new table, I want to double check with the pros here on the forum. The BGE is sitting on three small ceramic feet which sit on recessed fire bricks, and there is a 1/2" space between the BGE and the table. Is that enough to prevent damage to the table?

Marathon Man (1976?) Lawrence Olivier is a Nazi dentist in a diamond caper. Dustin Hoffman is a young guy who gets mixed up in it. He finds himself in a dentist chair with Olivier asking "Is it safe?" over and over. Oh, Olivier is also drilling holes in Hoffman's teeth to get the information. Great movie.

I really started hating them when my mom took me to a sadistic German dentist in Heidelberg back in around '78 who drilled into my teeth without any anesthetic. I still don't know why she didn't take me to the base hospital (where I had a medical record from youth-inflicted trauma about 2 inches thick). I think she must be a sadist too.
