How many hours a week do you work?

Curious what the average is out there, I am averaging about 50 - 55 a week, not including commute time.

I'm on salary so 40 hours at work every week......well, probably 30 hours working and 10 hours on this forum....lol.

Self employed. Average day maybe 4-6 hours 'work'. But if i am not working, i dont get paid

It will be about 100 hours this week. But july /august were maybe 20 total (paid work)

Retired for last 10 years, left the rat race at age 52. My wife often reminds me that at the 60 hrs I put in most weeks, 50 at the office and 10 at home, considered with a minimum of 8 hrs a week windshield time, I spent the same time as a guy 40 hr a week job if I had stayed on 'till 65. 

Haven't missed it a bit, enjoy the grandkids and planning the next cook out.....

Self employed here, in the summer 20 or so hours between October and Easter I don't count, probably over 50 and peak season closer to 80.

5-10 AT HOME

5 HOURS A WEEK COMMUTING

PRETTY MUCH ON CALL 24/7, BUT OFF HOURS CALLS ARE RARE

Anybody with self employment ideas for me (legal and moral) would be welcome.  I would like a change of work, and would like to do it for myself!

Forgot to mention, it pays the bills, lets my wife stay at home to be a mom (the most important job in the world) and pay for my tool and egg habits.  I thought i should share some of the up sides as well!

I work 40, hourly. I need to quit being lazy and start knocking out OT. Easy to get double time and that adds up when your a young buck like me and trying to be cool like the people on here

Not much.  Usually at work around 4 am until 4-5 pm Monday-Friday (no lunch), then Saturdays as needed and sometimes Sunday.  I go to bed at the same time my 8 year old does!  (8 pm)  It is getting old....

For you guys working 50+ a week, not counting self-employed, I hope they are giving you a fair amount of vacation days! Gotta imagine get worn out without breaks.

F-of-F: when i worked 'for the man' used to have five weeks paid, plus sick time.  but when they have you humping a desk for 50-60 hours a week, it's hard to find an open slot for vacation time anyway. 

being self-employed ( i sometimes call it 'self-unemployed' ), had ten weeks off last year.  but that's all unpaid. thankfully my clients' slow time overlaps july and august every year.  but it is unnerving to have no work for two months straight.

to clarify, i used to be an architect, now i am an illustrator (of architecture)

I once worked 12 on 12 off 7 days a week for a whole year. It was the worst time of my life.

When working 60-80 hrs/wk....it's up to 12hrs/day....7 days/wk. I mostly work out of town, so I want as much OT as I can get!
