in an actual ( or imminent) physical conflict, 'armed' is not generally or colloquially taken to mean 'having functioning arms limbs"

In The Walking Dead, a new character introduced in last season's finale, uses two armless walkers/zombies chained and gagged to her.  This enables her to walk amongst the walkers in the daytime undetected.

Couldn't steal an egg without arms?

An armed zombie is more of a threat than an unarmed zombie

Season starts soon on channel A & E

stike, your not keeping up with the zombies, the ones with limbs are armed and having arms makes them more dangerous, and just because they are the "walking" dead doesnt mean they are not fast, some are runners.

using fictional stories as evidence to support claims about the real world is an error in logic...

@Focker you mentioned 3 1/4 in oo buck. Is that what you ment? The only shot shells I know of go from 3" and skip to 3 1/2".

Or do you meme your own? That would be cool. I've always wanted to learn to make my own so I could use fun stuff instead of lead or steel.
Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

I got on the world wide interwebs and image googled "armed zombies" - saw plenty of pictures of zombies with arms, but brandishing no weapons.  Then I changed the search term to "armless zombies".  Lots of pictures of zombies missing arms.

Zombie is a "person bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli."  AKA: animal stupid and unable to use a modern weapon.  In context of zombies, who frequently lose limbs from the trauma that made them zombies in the first place, making the assumption that "armed" means having arms or teeth and a functioning jaw makes sense. =))

I think everybody should pick up Max Brook's The Zombie Survival Guide if you are really interested in zombies. Great read.

Can't wait for The Walking Dead to start uyp again.

As for what gun.....um I guess I'd have to use the ones I currently have (How could you use anything else?  LOL) .270, 12 gauge shotgun and a .22. I think I need more guns.

Wish I had some pics, but I competed in a Zombie match last year.  We had a team of 5.  I was the shooter and there were 4 loaders.  Zombie target of course.  On the whistle I fired my .58 flintlock, and laid it on the ground, each loader handed me a loaded rifle, then took it back to reload.  We had 3 .45's and one .36.  These were all patched round ball, but we did use prepared cartridges.  We got 15 holes on the paper in one minute, with 14 hits on the zombie.

Sorry, my error.  They are Rottweil Express 00 and in metric.  Thought they were 3 1/4" until I verified? They are 3"

Barroom brawlin' days are long over, but if I were "unarmed" with my arms, and a walker tried to D-Bo my egg, they'd get D-Bo'd upside the head.  =))

My trusty Remington 770 12 gauge pump, Mossberg 12 gauge pump, a Savage 30-06, or the old Winchester .32 lever action. The Winchester .32 was used to tame the wild west. I bet it could tame a few zombies!

I guess my .45-70 would be enough rifle for a zombie.  350 grain bullets.

Nice Kimber Jim.  A 1911 in .45, is high up on the wishlist.

Good to know the rib rack can also be used as a gun rack.

I can't believe I typed the wrong model number of my 870. 770, what was I thinking? I need to shoot something. Sorry, no pics. Wife doesn't care for guns. She'd really flip if I got them out just to take pictures.
