Best Adhesive or Glue for New Gasket

Comrades, old felt / OEM gasket partially burned off and they are shipping me the high temp / Nomex gasket. Which adhesive or glue should I use? 3M Super 77? Permatex? Something else? TIA

3M Super 77 applied kind of heavy to both the gasket and the egg. Let it dry about 5-10 minutes before joining the 2 parts. Spray the 77 on the gasket, but for the egg I would spary into a cup and paint it on.

Many folks seem to be liking Permatex Ultra Copper, and, FWIW, some are even using that as the gasket itself, and foregoing any Nomex style gaskets.
If/when I finally decide to replace my scorched gasket, methinks that I'll do the same (just use the Permatex & nothing else).
HTH,
Rob

The rutland on my small is peeling off and I used permatex. I used super 77 on the nomex on my large and its fine.

If you're asking me, regarding the Permatex, then no, like this:http://www.amazon.com/Permatex-80697-Copper-Spray-A-Gasket-Sealant/dp/B000HBNUDQ/ref=pd_sim_auto_4

BTW, you'll see that it says "gasket maker" on the tube, so it's made to actually *be* a gasket, as opposed to being a gasket adhesive, so it just stands to reason that, if ya can use it as a gasket for parts on yer car, ya can use it as a gasket for the Egg :PDon't get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water. Though, on a serious note, anyone who has done this - how many tubes does it take for a Large Egg??
P.S. here's the link if ALL you are interested in is just ONE puny widdle tube:

One tube will do. -
half a tube. gave the rest to a buddy who did his with it (we both glued rutlands, didn't make actual gaskets)

Agree with this, I just did my Rutland today and used approximately half the tube.
