I saw one for sale on craigslist with kamado. I have been thinking about how to make one. So far I have hanging some wire rope from a cross member suspended from the top hole.Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

I've thought of the same thing, but I figured the hanging meat would swing and contact the top of my egg each time I opened it.

Hey Tom at Ceramic Grill Store. Here is a new product for you. Look at the video.Click here for the video. If you can't stand it, go to the 6 minute 15 second mark for the hanger. For the threading part, go to the 3 minute 40 second mark.(I will accept a free one for the finder's fee).__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

What is the benefit of hanging food? I've seen jerky done by hanging but assumed it was to save space.
-
Why would you want to?
not being a smart**s -- just not sure what it would accomplish.

You could make one out of bent steel...little frame at the bottom to sit on the grate (or fire ring), hoop over the top, and a hook to hang from it.
Can get a metal shop to make one for you probably, or if you have an oxy-acetylene torch you could bend it yourself with a vise without too much trouble. I'm not sure if propane or mapp get hot enough but you could try those, too!
I think it would be useful for utilizing extra space in the egg without blocking the bottom layers like using a dual-grid.
