Well I got the opportunity to write a review on the Craycort Cast Iron Grates and let me tell you they are amazing!
Here's my review on them:
I definatelly say these grates are a must have for any Large and XL Big Green Egg. Also don't be shy to post your experience using them if you own one!
Happy Grilling!
Cheers!
Shawn

I just got mine Thursday and love it as well. A buddy of mine both bought some. I can't wait to try some steak on them next week. I've only cooked chicken breast and wings on them so far.San Diego, CA

Thanks, just ordered a set

How does it work with the platesetter?

Hi Shawn,Great review on your site. I'm sold! (which is impressive given that I've only had the egg for a day!)I notice that there are no griddles listed for the 18.5" grill on the canadian site, but that's clearly what you have. Where did you get yours?Oh, and expect me to show up at your door next time I find myself in the HRM

Never mind that comment... I found it. Was having a less-than-smart movement.I notice that there are no griddles listed for the 18.5" grill on the canadian site, but that's clearly what you have. Where did you get yours?I still plan to drop by next time I'm in Halifax. -
acr just make sure you keep them oil up after each cook and they will never rus and they will last you a lifetime! A basting brush I find is the best in lubing them!Cheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com

Wow! Great info. I am saving some cash for that. It's too bad they don't offer a complete package deal.
-
They are worth there wait in gold! I seen lower quality grates for the same price and even more!Cheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com

I prefer to sear my steaks close to the coals. Is that possible w/ these grates?
-
I have done it close to the cole! I put the grate on top of fire ring and pile up the lump as close to the grate on one side! and the lump was about 5" from grateCheers! Shawn My Blog: http://hrmcreativebbq.blogspot.com/ My Dads Custom Handles Blog http://dannyscarvings.blogspot.com

UPS just brought mine, so i went out to make sure they fit in the XL. They look very well made. and fit on the fire ring down close to the coals. I am going to try out some chicken wings and maybe some burgers tomorrow. I am excited! More to come.

Im stoked, I just ordered one today! Heck yea now i have an easy way to add more wood chunks.

I ordered a grate for the XL BGE. I put it on there and it seems a little small. Did anyone have this problem? The package that it came in read 23 1/4" diameter. On the Craycort site, it reads 24". Thanks for any help.
