I need a new dome Thermometer

I just broke the stock thermometer on my large BGE.  I was reading on the naked wiz and had a question on stem length.  It seemed the 5" Tel-Tru was better thsn the 2.5".  But it looks like they now sell 3.5" and the 5".  So my question is which is better?  http://www.teltru.com/s-136-big-green-egg-primo-grill-dome-kamado-replacement-thermometer.aspx

I have the 3.5 and previously used the 5 with a 1.5 spacer behind the indicator. Same thing really

I just recently broke my original from closing the lid onto some food that was on the top rack.  I would be concerned that the 5 inch would be more likely for that to happen.

Our big offset cooker has Tel Tru thermometers on it that someone that works for the local nuclear plant got us.  They work great, and are very accurate.

The new thermometers on the new eggs are Tel-Tru. You can probably pick one up from your dealer. I've seen them at the hardware store that sells BGE's. I'm swinging by the mothership to pick one up myself, this weekend. The are about the same price as a Tel-Tru but have the BGE branding.

haha.. They do glow in the dark. haha.. nah. It does let you know the quality of their product though.

I need to replace the original dome thermometers on 2 large BGE and one small.  Is the Teltru the best option?  Should I go 3.5" for the large and what size for the small.  Sorry if this has already been mentioned as I have not been on the forum in years.
