    hey folks, thanks for the nice comments on the table.

    judz, the height of the table, from the ground to the top is 34 inches.  that includes the casters.  standard counter height is 36 inches.  i'm not that tall, so being a bit lower is fine for me.

     daffy, i just used spar varnish to seal it.  i thinned the first couple of coats by mixing 50/50 with mineral spirits.  i gave it one more coat at full strength.  when i'm not too lazy and don't forget, i cover the table after the egg cools off.  so far, it's holding up pretty well.
