that is very nice. How far down did you go with the rock and sand? do you get freezing temps? but i doubt is anything is going to move with all those pavers and the xl.XL Walled Lake, MI

Very nicely done! Great post! Are you in or near Green Bay?
-
VERY well done! Something to be proud of! I know the Egg is happy with the new home.
Just a nit, but are you going to cut some pavers for the gap to the patio on the front right?
Good work!!! -
that looks great! looked like something i could do until you started making forms and pouring concrete!

Very nice table!

I dug about 6 inches down and filled with about 3.5" of material (the bricks are 3.5" deep). I figured there's close to 7,000 lbs of brick and concrete there so hopefully nothing is going to move in the harsh Wisconsin winters!Packerland, Wisconsin -

Yes, getting access (again) to a brick cutter tomorrow to finish the front holes next to the existing patio.
Then it will finally be done!Packerland, Wisconsin -
Did you just stack the pavers? Nothing holding them together but gravity?
I like it. -
Outstanding - nice work
Nice lawn and nice helper in the second pic
My back is hurting after hauling all those bricks ) -

I used a paver adhesive. Just laid a long snake-like bead for each row:

I was with you until after the first few rows of bricks.....then it started to look too hard for me.
But I'm so jealous, and it looks so awesome! -
I will definitely keep this process in mind when/if I ever get the motivation/spare cash to do a proper outdoor kitchen area.
good job. -
Beautiful creation! I know you're proud of that! Nice post.

very nice

Wow...great job...

Beautiful job! One question - what type of concrete did you use for the countertop and the shelves?
-
That looks awesome! i am about 40 mins or so south of you donw here in west bend, wi
I love the concrete counter tops...i think i am going to do that myself for my table.
Could you shed some insight with that? I have read quite a bit on the process...are you going to put beeswax and or some sort of food grade sealer on there or just leave as is?
Was the process fairly easy?
Great job! -
Sweet!

Okay, where did you hide the wheels and bottle opener?
SUPER job!Billy

just wondering where the next egg goes. :S -
Dookie Jenkins wrote:Beautiful job! One question - what type of concrete did you use for the countertop and the shelves?
I used "Quikrete countertop mix". I ended up using (10) 80lb. bags. 6 for the countertop and 4 for the two "shelves". They didn't stock it at any of the "big-box" stores so I ended up ordering it from Lowe's for $12 a bag. This stuff is VERY easy to use. Just dump the stuff in a wheel barrow, add water and mix with a shovel.Packerland, Wisconsin -
Awesome..

LOVE it and very fitting for your egg! Do not think I will let Big Momma see this though LOL

I built the concrete forms out of 3/4" melamine board. The concrete pieces are 2" thick, so I cut the form sides at 2 3/4" height. Then I used a nail gun to put it together. Sealed the cracks with 100% black silicone (black, so I could see where it was going on the white board). The key to the cutout part (where the EGG goes) is that you have to build it "upside down". The bottom of the form is going to be the top of your countertop. This way the countertop comes out almost perfectly smooth right from the start. The cutout for the EGG was a piece of 2" thick wall insulation. I cut it with a utility knife and then sanded it as smooth as I could. Then used the silicone to attach it to the form (again, on the opposite side because your going to flip the form over when it's done). I ended up using a total of (10) bags of "Quikrete countertop mix" for the four pieces I poured. As of now, I have two coats of concrete sealer on the entire thing. I got the sealer at Menards, its for pavers and aggregate patios. Still considering a beeswax or carnauba wax to finish it off.Packerland, Wisconsin -
Ummm, WOW! Very nice, and I am very, very jealous. Well Done.

That's unbelievable, Great work!!

That looks great! When I get my XL, I'm going to borrow liberally from your design...

My Compliments. You have me thinking of what I can do with my large now! Andy
