I like to use apple, cherry, persimmon or maple. Only one wood per cook.

Don't know how you got on the table forum but anyway, Richard is right on, fruit woods do wonderful things on the EGG. If you like heavy smoke flavor you can use hickory, oak or mesquite. You have to experiment a little to see what suits you [and mostly your wife], it is all good!
