Tel-Tru Dome Thermometer

I'm looking to replace the BGE dome thermometer.
Tel-Tru has several models
they have different stem lengths and temp range.
I was hoping to go with the 150-750 degree model
Although for most of my cooking the 100-500 would be OK.
will the 2 1/2" stem work on the BGE
Does anybody have any experience with these Tel-Tru thermometers.
I would like some feedback before I order one
Thanks

BGE now uses Tel-Tru.
Give them a call direct.
I use the Tel-Tru brand 2 1/2" on my Smalls and my Mini and the longer one on my Large and XL.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

the 2.5 inch stem in a large reads about 12 to 13 percent low on a large. i use the 2.5 inch stem and its easy to add ten percent to the reading, you have to get used to it, ive bent all my longer gages so will continue using the short one for convenience of not having to replace it everytime i bend one  there is no problems using it, you just need to know whats going on with it, naked whiz has a study on it on his web sitefukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
