Picked up a good idea for leftover pp on the food channel the other day. The show was Food Buddha and he was in a restaurant called 'Squeal', that has pp cakes on the menu. I added some cumin, chili powder, sauted onions n garlic. Then eggwash, panko and into the deep frier.
We tried a few different sauces and enjoyed them all. Give it a go

Damn, that's one of those "duh" moments. I can't believe that I haven't tried this before. It is officially, on the List.

That sounds twisted enough to just be delicious! Was the pork dried out at all from the frying or just crispy on the edges?Knoxville, TN

swibirun,
Juicy inside and a perfect crunch on the exterior. They could just as easily be pan fried. Actually the big Food Buddha brought the recipe back to his restaurant and used brown sugar instead of the panko and pan fried to carmalize them. Looked great as well. -
Cory,
Still can't believe I haven't seen it here before. -
man deep fry anything & you can count me in; there was a character at Waldorf that brought a propane powered deep fryer for the after party & was frying hot wings & poppers & other delicacies, needless to say there was a crowd around that device; those pork nuggets look spectacular as well, I'm hungry ever after stuffing myself with pizzahappy in the hut

was the pp seasoned with sauce or just leftover? -
Both sauced and leftover then seasoned again and sauced again at the end.

Somebody at work just told me about that restaurant yesterday. It's a new BBQ place in New Orleans. I plan on checking it out this weekend.

NOLA Q,
That's the place. See if you can get the recipe for the sauce they serve over those pp cakes.
This Food Buddha guy goes into these places and orders O.O.E....One of everthing!
So I've seen all that Squeal has to offer, and it looks great.
Report back -
Cool. Of course, fried pulled pork would be good. Thanks for sharing.
