I finished off (sadly) the beef tenderloin tonight.

I decided to try something new so I took this recipe that I found on BigOven (my fav recipe software/foodie networking site).

Pineapple Beef Marinade
Ingredients
DSC_0342resizedcropped.jpg
Pineapple juice, 6 ounce can
2 tablespoons Dark brown sugar
3 whole Garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon Ginger, ground
1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder (I skipped and just increased an extra clove)
1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
1 tablespoon Peanut oil (I used 3/4 T peanut 1/4 T sesame)
1/4 teaspoon White pepper, ground
1/8 teaspoon Cayenne pepper
3 teaspoons Soy sauce

I mixed it all together and marinated the steaks for a few hours (didn't get to marinade overnight as the recipe suggested). I grilled them on the Egg at 550f on a cast iron plate for

2 minutes, flipped
2 minutes, flipped
1 minute, flipped
1 minute, flipped
and then let rest.

It came out perfectly rare for my tastes. And tender? Butter knife tender!

Overall, good flavor. Next time I'd up the heat with the cayenne and ginger. I'll definitely make it again.
