I don't think the guys would be too happy if I started wheeling the eggs down to the patio while they are laying stone, but dang I am getting the itch to cook out there! Won't be long 'til I start playing "Sparky" and strap on the tool belt to build the roof. First thing is firing up an egg and starting to stack the leftover stone and build a nice big firepit....yes, a safe distance from the house ;-) Man, it has been mighty chilly here.
Cheers!

Holy smokes, the Rub business appears to be unaffected by the recession!! That is one beautiful looking mess of stone. Please keep us updated with pics! :woohoo:

Nice Chris. Know your gonna love it when done. Guess I need to get off my lazy butt and build something. Almost done with inside the house.

Thanks buddy. Yep, been a long time coming. Was thinking of starting it before the fire!
The wait has made it extra special. Plus, I had a lot of down time when we were waiting almost a year for the start of house reconstruction, and I sat there with a pad of paper for many days envisioning and drawing it up.

RS,
Looking very nice indeed. I know that area is gonna see some really good times in the future. -
Looking good my man.But now you are going to put me into some debt because the better half loves the way that looks. So now we are looking at paver and flagstone samples to lay down.BEERS!

Hey Brad!
Thanks man. I love the way the stone is coming together. I wanted something that looks like it has been there for years, and I think it will.
LOL. Funny how folks think I'm somehow raking in the bucks from the rub biz! It's still growing, but the recession has no doubt put a damper on sales.
Will keep ya posted. It's comin' together quick!

The house is nearly done. Still a bunch of little stuff, but even older houses have that. Only thing missing that we had before is a garage. Hopefully that'll get built next summer, but we is all out of dough!
How about you? Pictures look great. Must be shweet to be home.

You'll enjoy the flagstone. We've got about 1,200 square feet of the full size. As far as moving the BGE now.....if you feed them, I'd bet they'd work around you.LBGE Katy (Houston) TX

It should really pop once it is cleaned up. The stone has some very cool color variations. BTW, the contractors are hungry right now. Real hungry. You should be able to get some good pricing. I can highly recommend our guys. Good chance they'd travel up your way too. Here's their website http://www.visionll.com/index.htm
Hey, the wife needs to have her way. Pavers and flagstone are really not THAT different price-wise. Pavers look a little commercial to me, so we went with flagstone. You are definitely in a good area for getting good prices on PA flagstone. And if you need walls, the PA fieldstone goes really well.
Beers back!

I have been feeding them. But that's just to assure that they show up each day! hehe. Actually, good point. I have not cooked for them in a couple weeks. Might throw sumthin on today!
Thanks Gunnar!

Chris,
Is it ever. Like you, we have some odds and ends but it is totally liveable. We have burned up the insurance money but haven't settled on landscaping or contents. I have put a lot of my own money in and we are hoping that everything works out to be a wash.

Wow!! That's the first word to come to mind. That's one swell looking patio. It will be a paradise once you get a roof over the eggs. The addition of some form of roof will be my next step. Maybe in the spring. Don't forget to keep the pictures coming.Larry

i see your contractor works faster than mine, the guy laying stone at my house tends to drink too much and sit in his rocker watching the boats go by. that looks nice and comfy, get a big teak rocker and enjoy itfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
-
Looks great. I have a feeling that many beers and tasty animals will give their lives to contribute to the countless hours of fun to be had and memories made on that patio. And they'll be proud to have done so.
Hope things are going well with you and the family. Also, Heeee!
