I cooked two 8 lb flats for a party yesterday. But we had too much other stuff and only sliced one of them. We will start eating it as fast as we can but it's a lot of brisket for the two of us...Can I freeze a cooked brisket? Any other suggestions?
By the way, the brisket we cut was fantastic. My best ever. I impressed my 30 or so guests with brisket, chicken wings and onion pizza, all cooked on one load of charcoal with plenty to spare.

Yes you can freeze it, though I suggest slice it and sauce it up first.
You could make hash too, -
You sure can. I slice my second brisket and put it in separate small sandwich bags. then put them into a bigger bag and freeze. when I want some I pull out one bag and put it on a microwave plate with a couple tablespoons of water. cover with a paper towel and nuke it for a couple minutes. comes out nice and moist and ready to eat
hope this helps -
oh yes, frozen Brisket works great.
Weeknight BBQ sammy's, ABT filling, Brisket & Eggs on toast, chopped and served with brown or yellow rice topped with Sriracha, etc. -
It adds great flavor to Blues Hog Baked Beans also...i always freeze my leftovers just for that purpose...

Thanks for the assurance that brisket can be frozen after slicing. We will make a dent in it tonight but the rest will go into ziplocs for future sandwiches, hash, bean flavoring, etc.
Too much brisket: a good problem to have!

Really time for a food saver vac system. You can eat it safely for 21 days
