Starting trouble!!! Flame War!
I think putting EVOO on baked potatoes makes them taste "reheated". Use good ole butter instead.
Let the flames begin.

Oh boy! I'm gonna settle in with a beer and some popcorn for this one! 8 - ) I like mine with EVOO and salt and cook 'em on "hi" 'till the skin is nice & crisp..

i use lard and salt before baking. then as much as a whole stick of butter when eating a big baked potatoe. evoo isnt for cooking.fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Butter??? To paraphrase Monty Python "I wave my (baked potatoes) in your direction". Bacon drippings! Anything else is unAmerican.

i just really like butter, i even fry bacon in it. nothin better than dropping in egg into a quarter inch of butter and bacon grease, fried over easy on a sunday morningfukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

Agree with the evo and sea salt then bake high to make real cripy. Sometime I get wondering and the skin turns a little black. Then load it up with good old butter. I sick or two....LOL....don't show this post to my DR. cause if the butter don't kill me he will. LOL....

evoo...a rub of chipotle seasoned salt...naked on a 400* egg direct for about 2 hrs or so...you will have the softest baked tater EVER!

i wash mine and put it on the egg naked 400 degrees until it is soft... no seasoning or anything. i season it when it gets done. i don't eat the skin so no reason to season it!!!!!!!

Wow I thought I was the only one that put the butter into the skin once the tater is gone. Butter salt & pepper. It don't get any better then that.

oh yea mom used to make mashed potatos and she would save the skins... when she would get a ziplock bag full she would get the deep fryer out and fry them and salt them tasted great. but by the time i have eaten a potato i have already consumed a steak, salad, and usuallly some corn, so why ruin all of that with eating the skin last makes me want to

Add to that a country rib cook with some great Q sauce. Put those crispy spuds on a plate, some ribes. Butter the sput good then add more Q sauce to the ribs and spud.

One of the best baked taters that I can remember is as a Boy Scout we pulled them out of the ground and just buried them under the hot coals.Just might have to try that again.What the heck you guys throw a steak right on top of the coals and rave about it.Seems like the tater might get another chance.Looks like I might have to do a side of them tonight along with the pizza cook.

But cut them in half and scoop the potato out before serving.
Cut the skins in quarters, add a little chili, brisket, what ever is in the fridge that looks good, top with shredded cheddar cheese and put them back in the Egg 'till heated through and the cheese is melted.
