Congrats-You likely put more effort into your creation than any other contestant.  And you were appropriately recognized for it.  Great result right there.
No pressure to defend the title next year-but that is for another day.  Enjoy your position at the top.
Edit:  if you can let out the secrets-could you post the winning recipe??

Here's the recipe.   The "Triple D".....Donnie loves Hot dogs. Donnie loves Hamburgers. Donnie loves Bacon !!!!

The Triple D was developed through experimentation and research for the perfect hot dog. The name “Triple D” was thought of because…Donnie loves Hot dogs, Donnie loves Hamburger, and Donnie loves Bacon !!

    ITEMS NEEDED:

    1 - Hot Dog

2/3 lb - Ground Chuck –or- 85/15 Ground Beef

    4 - Slices Bacon

Hamburger Seasoning - I use Olde Canadian

    1 – Egg

    Salt & Pepper

    1/4c. - Chopped Onion

    1/4c. - Chopped Mushrooms

1Tbsp – Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

    1 Slice Sharp Cheddar Cheese

    1/2c. - Beef Broth

    2Tbsp. - Worcestershire Sauce

    1Tbsp. - Minced Garlic

    1/4c. Strawberry Jam

    1/4c. BBQ Sauce

    1/4c. Brown Sugar

    DIRECTIONS:

    To prepare Strawberry BBQ Jam:

Mix Strawberry Jam, BBQ Sauce, and Brown Sugar in small sauce pan and let simmer for 30 minutes.

Boil Hot dog in beef broth, minced garlic, Worcesterchire sauce mixture.

Semi-cook Bacon (enough to produce grease in skillet). Remove and let sit until ready to use.

Saute onions and mushrooms in Bacon grease, add Crushed Red Pepper

Mix Hamburger with seasoning and egg

Flatten hamburger into square pattie. Wrap Hot dog, cheese, onion mushroom mixture inside hamburger pattie.

Grill on Big Green Egg, direct at 425F. Coat with BBQ Jam after hamburger has browned to glaze.

Pull off and plate when IT reaches 165F.

Coat with more of the Strawberry BBQ Jam.

    Serve with Koolickles !!!!

Congrats Donnie.  How many of those did you have to make for the contest?

You wrapped the burger in bacon and cook direct correct?  Did you have any issues with flare ups from the bacon grease?

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.
