    Further anecdotal evidence exists in Yeti's superiorness - how many country songs have been written about RTIC?  Zero.  Nothing. None. Zip.  So buy a Yeti - Twice the price, same ice, feels twice as nice.

    @xfire_ATX I may have missed those at the S Costco, or they didn't have them, not sure.  What was the price for 2 forties?  Sounds perfect for my malt liquor habit.
    @Legume
    I think they were <$35 for the two pack.  They were kinda own their own with some other drink containers.

    I did just order the 30 rtic bag. Will see how it works.
    @stichrunner let us know how it works - it would be really useful. I like that the zipper runs around the outside, instead of down the middle like on the yeti.

    I just got the RTIC 40 can soft cooler a few days ago.  It's been holding ice nicely.

    Awesome. Seems like it would be a lot easier to transport than the hard coolers and easy to store, too. One more thing to put on the toy list. Oh yeah, camel3 just told me the anova is down to $160...

    There's more "nothing" in Yeti's vacuum than the competitors' lesser products.  Yeti pumps down to 21.0 millibar, while competitor products pump down to 20 millibar plus or minus 2 millibar.

    Plus the Yeti nothingness is superior to the other nothingness because it is a Yeti, and you get what you pay for.  (disclaimer - no Yetis were harmed in making Yeti nothingness).

    Who needs RTIC's longer warranty, if you have a Yeti, it doesn't need no stinkin' warranty because it costs way more and if you can't afford replacing your Yeti you have no business owning one.
    Nola......you have been on a roll these last couple of days. Happy 4th of July weekend to ya!

    It cuts about 20 pounds off the hard cooler - I think it weighs around 4 pounds empty.

    My mother (who loves a Walmart) was somewhere between Austin and St Louis recently and grabbed this after I saw it on this board and I had her keep an eye out for me.  Me I am not a huge fan of Walmart and they closed the only one near me recently.

    Not sure if keeping it, really wanted to see it 1st hand and how it compares to RTIC/ YET.

    1st Look when it arrived- Bigger than I thought it would be.  Doesn't weigh nearly what the Yeti version does.   I havent unzipped that front zipper to give an idea of storage

    Added Yeti Colster in bag (and Spaniel in shot) for reference as to internal size.  Looks like it would hold quite a bit of what ever, liner looks like it would be leak proof.

    When I saw this pop up on another thread the comment was if it tipped over it would leak.  No doubt about that, its a simple zipper no way it would hold water in.

    Impressions-
    For $60 its probably a decent cooler and would likely do well for the simple walk down the street to the HOA pool.
    As I have an abundance of Coolers I dont see the Mrs wanting this one around.
    Just giving it a once over the insulation seems similar in thickness to the Yeti I have looked at, likely not the same material.  Likely wouldnt hold ice for 8-10 hours of full sun but I have others I would use for that.

    While I mull it over- if anyone in the ATX does want this let me know before I likely take it back.

    I have a Yeti. 20 I think. It was a present. I don't hate it. Should I?  I can't understand why I would but I want to be "one of the guys" so let me know how I am supposed to feel.
    Thx.

    @stichrunner

    About 3.5 months. I think it took longer for them to get the 40 can soft coolers, because some friends of mine ordered the 20 and 30 and they got theirs weeks before mine.

    nope but i have a hydroflask and refuse to believe anything yeti makes will top it.  it keeps beer ice cold for what seems like forever.  and thats in south texas heat
    Went to REI this week with every intention of getting an 18 oz Yeti- had Dividend $$ and a gift card so the Yeti was the decision over the RTIC.  However once I got there I couldnt do it- the mouth is so large it wasnt going to be easy to drink from.  Sure it would be easier to put ice in but not convenient for a travel water bottle.

    So.... I got the 24 oz Hydroflask
    Cost less, Painted and smaller neck.

    Tested it for cold worthiness- of course.
    Washed it in Hot water and immediately filled it with ice cubes.
    Sitting on my counter in my house it took 55 hrs for the last of the ice to melt away

    I haven't tried it but I have heard good things about the hyrdroflask 64 oz growler and it is considerably cheaper.

    ...or you could just wait for RTIC to come out with the 64 oz for $30-$40.  They will be announcing it within a couple of months and available to ship within a couple of years.
    Amen.  Ordered the 20 can cooler in June, to ship in September.  F it.  I can wait for it to save $200.

    You are right on @nolaegghead...after all, when the knock-off is out of business, who needs that extra warranty.  :)

    BTW, will be in NOLA in October for a conference the week of 10/24.  Looking
    forward to my return trip.  Always love NOLA....great food!
