There was a thread over on another forum a few months ago where someone was describing how they (frequently) wash/wax their kamados. To my surprise, quite a few more folks chimed in to say that they too would at least occasionally wash/wax their kamados.
I've never even washed/waxed my vehicles with the care they mentioned in their post. I can honestly say that I'll never take a chamois to any of my kamados or other grills.Columbus, Ohio--A Gasser filled with Matchlight and an Ugly Drum. -

I cover both my XL and my Mini Max as well as the stainless prep table the Mini Max sits on.
Like was said earlier, I take care of all my stuff. I'm a bit OCD so everything is wiped down and covered.
I take care of the things that take care of me!

Another reason to cover that I forgot to mention: birds like to perch on the gutter right above my egg, waiting their turn for the bird feeder.
