"FoodSaver" type bag source?
Any recommendations for a good source of Foodsaver bags?

I buy mine from Amazon - the brand I like are called "foodvacbags"

Here are a few tips i have found over the years.
Ziplock brand sealer bags are thicker than food saver bags. Wrap sharp edged bone in meat with plastic wrap first , lightly freeze wetter meats prior to bagging and sealing, and make sure the opening is clean and dry for a good seal. I also wash and reuse my bags whenever i can. :-) I bought my last " Rolls " of bags on Ebay but have not used them yet.More meat please !! :-) -
I have used this source for about 6 years and very happy with the results and price.

I think the bags from Amazon (Foodvacbags) are better since they are 4 mil instead of 3 and they are cheaper.

I have a chamber sealer now but when I used a foodsaver I found the best prices on bags/rolls was at the service outlet. There used to be a locator on the foodsaver website.

@Carolina Q thanks for sharing! .... I take back all my thoughts about you shunning technology. Bumping this old thread instead of starting a new one.
just bought a Foodsaver countertop unit at Costco over the weekend and used up the small supply of roll bags that came with it sealing up a whole prime ribeye I steaked out. Now need some roll bags, anyone using these and what do you think of them and the value here? http://shop.vacuumsealersunlimited.com/Jumbo-ULTRA-11-x-50-Rolls-Case-of-6-940152-6.htmJacksonville FL -
I have been using these and like them. They are the same thickness and about the same price you just don't have to buy 6 rolls at a time. They also have a good price on the 8" version. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00I1OM7TO/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1474388395&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=vacuum+seal+bags

@CoMoBGE thanks!
What sealer are you using with them?Jacksonville FL -
I bought a cheap Seal-a-Meal manual sealer off of Amazon. I have burned through a few more expensive ones and for the money,$31, it has been going strong for almost a year. I ordered the same bags for a friend that uses a vacmaster 350pro. He says he has to turn down the heat on the seal bar a little but after doing that really likes them.

Cabala's bags are very nice as well.
They are on sale right now and you just missed an additional 20% that really made them a god deal.

Another place to check is - http://www.thehuntersbutchershop.com/Weston-Vacuum-Sealer-Bags-s/66.htm
They generally have competitive prices and BOGO (buy one get one free) deals.
I bought my Weston sealer from them and quite a few bags and all orders have been trouble free.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk -
Costco does $8 off their pack pretty regularly and you get a good amount. I go through about a pack a year at $30 or so.
-
I like the Weston bags and rolls. They are as good as, or better than, Foodsaer bags and are cheaper. They are available on Amazon or directly from Weston.Weber Kettle, Weber Genesis Silver B, Medium Egg, KJ Classic (Black)

Great topic, bookmarked.
So far all we have bought is the SAMs Club combo pack which has multiple size rolls and some precut large bags
