So SWMBO asked me what I wanted for my bday. I want something to use with my egg. Any recommendations. All I have is a plate setter and a dual big green egg probe thermometer. Any recommendations?

If you already have a plate setter, the Woo is great to have. Makes removing the setter a breeze and it's not real expensive either. I happen to really like the combination.

Go for a Woo or adjustable rig from Tom at the Ceramic Grill Store. The gift that gives every time you cook on the Egg.Large BGE, MiniMAX BGE, 2 Mini BGE's, R&V Fryer, 36" Blackstone Griddle, Camp Chef Dual Burner 40K BTU StoveBGE ChimineaProsper, TX

So I know this is going to sound stupid by I'm confused with the whole woo think. What exactly is it? Explain it to me like I'm a 5 year old.Midland, TX XLBGE

I concur with @SGH consider the Woo. It would be my #1 choice given what you have shared. A pair of welder gloves would be a nice companion purchase to the Woo. The plate setter was part of my LG package and I use it frequently for five years but I egged without the ability to easily and safely remove it while cooking. Full disclosure - I purchased an AR this spring. You might also consider a grill basket. I use mine for vegetables, strips of meat, meatloaf, meatballs etc. I also purchased a Kick Ash Basket and love the convenience of tapping away the ash between cooks. My recommendation would be to think about what you like to eat-cook and then add assessories to enhance your experience. It's very easy to fall into the "gadget syndrome " and purchase equipment you don't need or will never use.IL

Go to ceramicgrillstore.com for firsthand information regarding the woo and other aftermarket assessories. It's a very user friendly site with excellent support. Their customer service is excellent.

Visit the ceramic grill store. While their web site takes a bit to navigate this link should steer you in the right direction. http://shop.ceramicgrillstore.com/large-woo-rings/ Look for the PSWoo2 combo. It is a PSWoo2 (enables you to use your platesetter) with a second grid level well into the dome. I have this set-up (after fumbling around in the darkness for years with other gear) and it's top-notch. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

If not a woo, consider a looftlighter. Love mine.

Thermapen is a must have if you don't have one already. Looflighter is another good choice...
