Little Help.. Picked up some Dizzy "Red Eye Express" today.

I haven't tried a coffee based rub on anything yet and wanted to give it a shot. Anyone tried this rub or is the coffee based rub better on something particular? any meat to keep it far away from?

It appears to be like Mickeys coffee rub. I haven't tried the Dizzy pig rub though, so I can't compare the two.
I do use Mickeys on brisket, steaks and chicken.SE PA

This is the one DP we really don't like. It's nothing like Mickey's Coffee Rub. I even forget what we tried it on, but it did not go AT ALL.

I agree with @mattman3969 - it goes well on most proteins. We also really like it tossed with cubed butternut squash and then roasted.

I don't use a lot of it, but it goes great on Moink Balls since it bridges the beef and pork just fine.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I love it on lamb and when I make roast beef. I rub the bottom round with it.--------------------------------------------------

It is one Dizzy Pig rub I didn't care for too much. I like coffee, this just didn't do it for me. I've had a coffee rubbed steak at a high end steak place, didn't care for that rub either. I may just not like coffee rubs.
I do like their Cow Lick a lot though.

I don't know what others are tasting, but red eye is awesome. Pork chops, loin, tenderloin. Beef steaks. We love it.

For us, Coffee Rubs (especially Mickeys) only go on chicken. THAT rocks.. Steak? Not so much IMHO.
