Coming up fast, have a hubby who loves the egg (I do too!). We have a woo, pizza plate, but that's about it. How about something less than the computer thingy for long smoking. We also have the great instant read thermometer.

how much is this Maverick? Actually what I meant to say NOT for long smoking (we don't do much of that)

Then skip the maverick. You don't need it for short cooks. Instant is fine.
Now SRF has some beautiful meat.... -
ok, which should I buy. Not sure of the brisket, haven't cooked one bf

How about some cast iron? A Lodge Dutch Oven is great for beans, stews, even cornbreads and baked items. Or a CI griddle.

Thermopen $90 or Thermopop $30
Red is the fastest I've found, followed by the green
Google Thermoworks.
They have frequent sales & open box items that'll save you 15 to 20%

SRF Black brisket for the win! You have time for a practice run with a solid Costco or other sourced prime packer and this forum will get you home. Father's Day sale going on at SRF- the link: http://www.snakeriverfarms.com Enjoy! FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.
