I was at an auction tonight and saw these. I did bid but they went up and I decided to bow out. They ended up selling for $25. Anyone know any history on these as they were pretty neat. As I type this I wish I would have gone a little bit higher

Three times I hesitated to open this d/t the title, curiosity got the best of me. No idea what those are.

I have see those in China befor and something similar in Vietnam. The ones I saw in China mostly were used for soups and or boiling water. Most Asian countries have something similar. Below is from VietnamHermosa Beach CA

Am asking a friend from work to translate the label. Perhaps it will translate as Little beige egg.. Lol. Hopefully will have answer later in Am..LBGE, AR. Lives in N.E. ATL

Tao cooker I think. You should have picked it up, kinda the Asian version of the portable Weber Smokey joe.
Here’s one made of steel without the wok/pot.

I want to but did not know enough about them. No sure what kind of material it was made of but it seemed to be a little crumbly so that was a concern.

What did the autctioneer describe it asIn the middle of Georgia! Geaux Tigers!!!!!

That looks pretty cool- I would definitely consider it for $25. I can see what you mean about looking a bit crumbly from the pics though. Not sure I would trust that burning lump on my deck. I'm assuming the top comes off and the CI pan goes inside?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

My co-worker tells me it rougly translates as:
Something like:
"Magic stove"

They described it as a grill. The pan sits right on top where you see it.

Ah yes, the Chan Foreman Magic Stove._____________
