I never thought when I joined this forum nearly a year ago what all I would gain from it. I joined for recipes, technical ideas, and advice. But on Thursday night after several suggestions from folks in the Jacksonville area I ended up at Whitey's Fish Camp...and @NPHuskerFL met me there. We were joking about both of our wives saying "how do you know he's not a killer or something...". We both answered them with "honey, he has an egg, he's fine".
We enjoyed fried catfish, beer, gator tail, and great company, at least I enjoyed it. And we talked about our eggs, a lot. Not only have I gained recipes and techniques, I've gained friends. If anyone ever has the chance to meet @NPHuskerFL, do it, he's a straight up dude and fun to be around...and the bonus...he didn't kill me Later.
Keep the faith

You've got to wonder about a guy with that much refrigeration and freezer space, but glad to hear he's no Jeffrey Dahmer - I'd have to stop admiring his cooks.
Great story. -

Most eggcellent post-I have met (outside of fests and at neutral sites) a few forum eggers and they have definitely raised my game. (That wouldn't take much:)). With the common denominator that those who are active on the forum possess then it is a natural occurrence. Or we are all lucky in this day and age! Enjoy!Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Kevin rolls up at Whitey's Fish Camp Dukes of Hazzard style in a black Cameo . It was a great time with conversation ranging from egging to family. Good food as always with Gator tail and fried whole fresh caught catfish and America's Oldest and finest brew. Kevin is a good guy. It's funny he looks nothing like Krammer Next time I'm in the Atlanta area I'll definitely give him a shout. We eggheads are definitely a different breed and I'm happy to be part of this cultish group of enthusiastic and passionate people. Both of us agree we need to hit an eggfest.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

"Dukes of Hazzard Style"...I'm loving it. Benefits of renting cars several times a month...the free upgrades. My personal ride is a beat up truck, but the Camaro was fun for 4 days.
See you soon Husker...

I did the same thing on a motorcycle forum and they became some of my best friends. Still hang out with them but I'm not riding much anymore.Dave - Austin, TX

Eggers are definitely a different breed. Last year I was picking up a used nest I found in the local want ads and within 30 seconds I was sitting on his deck enjoying a beer while he showed me his new outdoor kitchen set-up.
Gotta love it! Great place to be.Sudbury, Ontario -

How do we know he didn't kill you, steal your phone, and has now posted that under your handle to throw off any suspicion?

I agree that this forum is the absolute BEST for foodies in the SEGGMENT that we enjoy so much for outdoor cooking. I have learned so much here from all of you guys it makes me shake my head. hopefully some perspective I've given has helped someone as much as I've been helped here. That I know Tom of CGS really well is simply icing on the cake, or more appropriately, bbq sauce on the pork shoulder!
I've purchased stuff from guys on this site based on a guy's word and I've been trusted and have trusted guys on this site without any issues.
we just all want to enjoy and share our enthusiasm for all things BIG GREEN EGG.
