Wandered into a "high end" appliance store yesterday and came across an Egg... sorta.
It's called the Caliber Pro Thermashell Charcoal Grill. It's NOT ceramic but is double walled stainless steel. Looked interesting and includes a few features that the egg doesn't (a half moon "brazier" box and rotisserie option".

Curious to hear if anyone has one or seen one in action?? ...would like to see how it stacks up against an Egg (other than costing 3 times as much at $2,500!) for different types of cooks.

like I said, it looked interesting, I'd never heard of it and thought I'd tap into the community to see if anyone had any insight.

Not interested in the cooker but I wonder what the fire box is made of?

Was your "No thanks" based on experience, price, or something else?

It's insulated, probably gets good EPA fuel economy. I'd guess your food would taste identical.

You don't need a rotisserie or a braised box with the egg. That is the genius of the ceramic cooker.

Kamado Joe makes a metal one as well. They look cool but not sure its needed.

Heard of, but not seen - cool looks. Know a guy with a Broil King Keg, it is all steel and works very well. It is bullet proof. As we live in Lotus Land, not sure what it might be like for GWN winter cooks.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!
