I'm confident I am giving her stuffed crabs. She got me 100 pounds of charcoal which came today, 80 pounds of Rockwood, 20 pounds Ozark Oak. The crabs are in the freezer now.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

I quit the going out to dinner scam a few years ago after paying $65 for the same $23 trout I normally get at Rays on the River in Atlanta.

I'm working, we'll celebrate on Friday the 13th instead.
Afterall, it's only our 26th Wedding Anniversary, last year was the big 25, got her a nice antique Silver teapot last year. Nothing special this year, got 4 more years before I need to worry about a special gift.

No VD cook for Henderson the Rain King. Wife left for Caymans with daughter (temporary!!). Driving to Ohio with Number 1 Son to look at colleges. Planning a detour to Primanti Bros in Pittsburgh on the way, so there's that. Taking suggestions for good eats in the Columbus area. Otherwise, will be enviously looking at the posted cooks and related hijinx.It's a 302 thing . . .

VD is really quite humorous when you stand back and observe.All us men scampering around buying presents and making reservations. Trying to plan the perfect evening, just hoping it will pass muster with our ladies, and keep us out of the doghouse.For those that are doing a BGE cook for VD, my hat is off to you. I haven't decided if I'm going to egg this or sous vide and then sear on the egg. I won't be doing the whole thing tomorrow, the rest will be left in the fridge to dry age.
