OT - just bought a house.

They just accepted our offer on a house. In a few days I'll will be a first time home owner. I think we got a really good deal. The thing that I'm most pumped about is its on a little over a acre. Being that it's in town, that's hard to do around here. It's just what we wanted. It's like living in the country, but close to everything and we still get high speed Internet and natural gas. Those are must haves for me. The house its self is larger than where we're renting now and the mortgage is gonna be a lot cheaper. Ive got lots of plans. Shop and outdoor kitchen are first on the priority list.

Owning a home is light years better than renting. Congratulations... don't forget to make one extra payment every year, turn that 30 year mortgage into 17 years.

I say minor. When it occurs you'll think Major, but in reality usually just a bump in the road.

Congradulations and enjoy the new home. Remember what little Dorothy said? There is no place like home. Truer words have never been spoken my friend.

Location- Just "this side" of Biloxi, Ms.

    Status- Standing by.

Congrats! Welcome to the mature side of life. Now you are building equity instead of building a pile of worthless paid rent receipts! Also welcome to the joys of home ownership as there are no more landlords to call to fix things since now YOU are the man! LOL

Congrats man!!  Sounds like you got what you were wanting.  And not only will your mortgage be less like you said, but remember you'll get the mortgage interest deduction on your taxes as well that you weren't getting while renting.

It's a older neighborhood in Greenville. We paid less than half of what I was approved for. I've been looking for months to find something that wasn't a wreck. Don't get me wrong there's a few things I want to do to the house but it's all small stuff. Oh and I forgot to brag about the large pantry I'm gonna love having. It's the little things.

Fantastic! Congratulations! We enjoy our extra buffer out here on a little over an acre. If I had it my way we'd be on several hundred acres. Love our privacy.
