Tried my hand at wings for the first time, fired up egg and got to 400.
Used Plowboys Yardbird rub
Untrimmed wings (I'll work on my presentation more later)
I'm craving buffalo style, so using Franks hot sauce and unsalted real butter for coating.
I cooked direct raised at 400 for 45 min
I tested one at 40 min mark and it fell apart and was amazing, so I let them go 5 more minutes and then trimmed up a few with chicken scissors, and tossed with the Franks.
Served with celery and ranch, standard.
Simple yet delicious, thanks to all whose posts have inspired me, there are many of you.

That PB YB doesn't last long round here. Love that stuff. Now I gotta go buy some wings tomorrow. Nice!
-
@SGH first time I used it tonight, loved it, I ate the first couple without the buffalo sauce, good enough to stand on its own IMHO. I have to go to specialty places to get the stuff from Texas, the Midwest, The South etc.Got this at a great BGE dealer I found about 30 miles from me, worth the drive.

@anton- The reason that I asked is I'm real fond of it myself. I like it on pork chops as well my friend.

I may have to upgrade to the Franks extra hot, my lips didn't burn enough after.I don't like REAL,real hot, but I like a little cayenne burn no prob.

Wings look great! Reminds me that I've been out of Yardbird for a while now and need to restock.

In regards to your post title, were you singing like this while your wings cooked?

Nice looking wings! As I recall from watching "It's a Wonderful Life" many times, the musical question is "Buffalo gals won't you come out tonight?" Perhaps they're coming out to play?Flint, Michigan

Wings look great. A little twist I do to the traditional buffalo sauce is add a little bbq sauce and a good amount of honey. Always seems to be a hit.

Next time, toss the wings in corn starch after rubbing. They'll be so crunchy, you would think they were fried.Flowery Branch, GA LBGE

@SeeingSpots, shoot, totally forgot to do that on the wings, I usually do on my spatchcocks and the like, thanks for the reminder!

So do you generally cut them after cooking? Is that easier? They look amazing.Firing up the BGE in Covington, GA

@jonnymack ,correct sir, I cut em up with chicken scissors, then toss in sauce, serve! It is easier to me, flipping 12 pcs vs 24!! Plus I worry about them getting stuck/slipping through grill. Yes , it is easier.

GulfCoastSmoker,I dust liberally, and then hit whatever chicken I'm cooking direct skin down for the last few minutes, still perfecting it myself. I love that crispy skin as well.Using a MBGE,woo/w stone, livin' in Hayward California," The Heart Of The Bay "

GulfCoastSmoker said:I tried mixing some corn starch with my rub this weekend on a spatchcock, cooked it at 275 for a couple of hours, and the skin still was not crispy. How much cornstarch do I need to be putting on.
