Fried Catfish on the Mini BGE

Caught a big white catfish on Lake Murray a couple of weeks ago. Fried some of it up tonight. Soaked the nuggets in milk and salt for 35 minutes. Then rinsed, dried and coated in House Autry. Good stuff!

I love Catfish. I usually add spices and pan blacken them on CI. Either as steaks or fillets.

Looks good. Like the size of the fried pieces - nuggets as you put it - that's the best way to do 'em.-----------I feel a whole lot more like I do now than I did when I got here.

Looks yummy! I was finally going to take the plunge and try catfish...and then saw it was going for $9.99 a pound at my local Safeway. Too pricey for me. Catching it is definitely the way to go!XL, JR, and more accessories than anyone would ever need near Olympia, WA

@MrCookingNurse , I used a slinky rig and cut bait with a cork above the hook. The cats are running from 5 feet to 25 feet right now in Murray. I found a nice slope ranging from 10 to 25 feet and drifted. I marked a way point on my gps fishfinder in order to revisit.

This white catfish was 11.5 lbs and the state record is 12 lbs 2.9 oz. I had no idea at the time that it was a white cat. Thought it was a channel until I weighed it at the bait and tackle shop nearby.
@Griffin, I didn't see any highlights from the game. It's been a whirlwind of a week with my dad.
He is stable though and now back home. A little too soon IMO, but home. -
