Depends where we eat- my family is stuffing, broccoli casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry, etc. My wife's family oyster dressing, creamed corn brule, some nasty cooked fruit that no one but my MIL will eat and some other stuff.Greensboro, NC

John- totally agree on the sweet potato pie. The other one I like is a sour cream apple pie.Greensboro, NC

I don't cook for Thanksgiving much anymore, but this Chipotle Sweet Potato dish was a must-have every time I did._____________

Our T-Day is usually a conglomeration of friends/family. My husband is a professor, so many of his friends are from out of town so they come to our house if they cannot/don't want to go home. Plus some siblings who can make it..so it is an eclectic group. We get fresh turkey and take it to our barbeque place to smoke it for us...reason: we do a T-Day race in the morning, and by time we finish a 6.2 mile trek in cold weather I do not have the time or energy to cook the bird. Plus they do a fantastic job of it...all I have to do is heat it up!
Will probably shake things up a bit this year. In the past it was corn bread stuffing, roasted broccoli/green beans and Manchego Cheese Mashed Taters. Will probably keep the last two, but the stuffing needs changed..may go with a sausage variety.

Thanks @Botch going to try this for sure. Just added an apple crisp for desert. I don't know where the wife got the recipe. I can ask if anyone wants it. @hapster let me know what you come up with for the sausage stuffing. Wanna try this too. Twice baked sweet potatoes. Pick them, bake them for about an hour or so at 450 then remove and let cool. In a mixing bowl, mix a stressed composed of butter at room temp, brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, pecans and mini marshmellows. Stuff the sweet potatoes with the streusel and return to oven for 15 minutes.

@Biggreenpharmacist I asked the wife to get recipe as she didn't have but a quick search I found this one. I haven't tried it but it has very good reviews... http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/corn-creme-brulee-recipe.htmlGreensboro, NC

We usually do a sweet potato pie/casserole, fresh cranberries with orange zest and some other goodies are in there, green bean casserole, homemade yeast dinner rolls. And a variety of pies. Chips and homemade chunky salsa is also usually somewhere in the mix for football.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL
