Beef shoulder clod

As per @Eat post I am going to smoke a shoulder clod tomorrow. Should I inject it, rub it or do any thing else to it before cooking it.

Nice @berndcrisp, you are much more educated than I am, I do not even know what a kilobyte is and have no desire to learn.
