Commonly used forum abbreviations

I don't know about y'all but, it is sometimes easier to abbreviate. Unfortunately when we use these nifty abbreviations to help a newbie the advice can sort of get lost in translation. Here are some helpful references.

I don't always use EVOO in cooking, but use CO (canola oil) in most instances.

When I first came here I thought EVOO was some kind of special rub or seasoning. I was trying to figure out where to get it because so many recipes started out with, salt, pepper, and EVOO.

It took a few posts before I figured it out.

I had always known Canola Oil that was developed in Canada and was the marketing man's renaming of rapeseed oil, but did you know Canola is short for Canada oil low acid? Honest!!!

Great thread, to me CI is cast iron, never seen c.i.; same for PS is plate setter.

I prefer to call them stuffed jalapeno's. I just can't call something a turd that I am going to eat.

I personally never put too much thought into it since I know that it's not a turd. . At this point it's a habit to call them wolf turds and all of the other pit masters I know call them that. Not a big deal unless you have a weak stomach I guess. But now that you mention it... It probably would be best called a stuffed jalapeño.

If you want to get technical, they should not be call atomic either because jalapeño's are not hot.

Lol swmbo was reading a post one day that said DP rub and she had this crazy look on her face... She said I don't know how that gets accomplished but it sounds horrible

) ya I got the same "really rolling eyes look". Even more so when I said no no they're talking about Dizzy Pig (because I've never used their products so it sounded like a cover to her. Lol. SWMBO is prior USN same as me so it takes quite a bit to upset her. She just shook her head and walked away "boys being boys". Yep she gets it. Lol).
