Tomorrow I get my LBGE. I'm so excited I'm like a little kid before Christmas. And we have a annual neighborhood picnic on Sun. Think I'm gonna do some ABTs and pork shots. I guess I need to find the camera before then. Thanks for all the great info on here so far.

Welcome and congrats! Dirty that puppy up before you cook for the neighbourhood, run a load of lump thru it as soon as you unpack it, check the bolts for torque and get an idea of how to control the temps.Enjoy!Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

Make sure to listen to @skiddymarker
Run lump through it for a while, then cook on it. Otherwise you will have an unpleasant taste to the food the first time.

CP92 is getting a demo unit from Cozyfest tomorrow so it should be seasoned but I agree put some lump in there and practice with the temp settings.

Thanks for the tip to run some lump through it first. Like Joe said, it's a demo, but I'll run another load through Sat night.
Charles did Rags link get you up to speed? If not please say so. I'm gonna do cream cheese, some kraft mexican blend (don't judge me), some green onions and garlic, little honey, some rub, and top the cheese mixture with some caramelized onions then wrap. Can't wait. And I ordered my Thermapen yesterday!

Did you make it home with your new egg? sorry I missed meeting you at the fest.Gambrills,Maryland

I did I did. Yeah, I figured you'd have stood out with the Vette stuff. Got there at 10:15ish and hung until around noonish then went and watched the kids play football for a bit. Came back and hung out for a while then back to the kids. Had to do something to get away from all that food.
But yep, got a good one, back home safely and in the nest. Time for cooking tomorrow!
