Congrats! I got mine a few months ago. It's been an absolute blast, and the food at my house has never been better! By the way, you may already know this, but let the lump burn until the smoke goes from gray to clear-ish blue (takes about 15 minutes) before you put food on. If you put the food on right away it will end up tasting acrid. Tons of first-timers make that mistake (myself included). Enjoy!Southern California

Welcome, Jeremiah. Wow, that egg will never look so clean and "virginal" again!
Keep us posted, with pics, of your cooks. As for questions, remember rule #1. The only dumb question is one you don't ask, 'cause that's one you can't get answered.

Welcome to the Insanity! I got mine back at the beginning of the summer, loving it. Definitely a great investment. I debated for years before I finally got mine, no regrets at all. I recommend Spatchcock Chicken also. Doing one right now with Dizzy Pig Swamp Venom, YUM!

Is that new handle wood or some type of hard plastic?PROUD MEMBER OF THE WHO DAT NATION!

It's crappy plastic. I've already emailed that Danny fellow about a custom wood one. --- I have to say though, other than that and the missing cap, I'm pretty pleased with it. I've spent the evening playing with temp control. Heck I had a ball and cooked nothing but lump charcoal.Que_n_Brew said:Is that new handle wood or some type of hard plastic?
