Y'all must have some great paying part time jobs down there. I ran into Johnny Manziel on Friday before the Super Bowl at Harrah's in N.O..He was playing blackjack for $500 a hand. Not bad for a redshirt freshman. :-)

I dont care if his dad is Warren Buffet, I doubt his parents gave him several grand to go gamble with in NO. He has to be getting $ from somewhere and he better be careful flaunting it in public. I like the kid a lot, and he is extremely well spoken, but I think I liked him even more when A&M would not let him speak to the press. The photos of flashing $ needs to stop.

@billyray, I hear you man. Bartending in Aggie land goes like this:

"Can I have a Bud Light". "Sure, that will be $3.00 Mr. Donor". "Great, thanks Johnny. Here is $503" wink wink.

He's gonna get that program canned and himself a hiesman taken away if he don't stop flashing the donor money. Just ignorant or lying if you deny it. It's at about every school. Somebody needs to reel him back in!

He is pure fun to watch while it lasts.....
Salado TX & 30A  FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

  • Aggies, embrace the hate.

You have a Heisman winner, a top 5 finish, just wrapped-up a great recruiting class, and are only getting started in the SEC.

Your success will yield hatred from opposing SEC schools and the rest of the nation and media.  They will stop at no-end to drag your name and traditions through the mud.  Heck they may even attack your trees.

    Embrace the hate.

    My first question, he's 20.

Who's hating?? I just think coach needs tell him to chill out a little. Court side at the nicks game was a little much even if his parents are loaded.

  • His Dad was with him in New Orleans.  I'm sure he knows exactly how much he's gambling.

It is true he's 20, I think I have a hard time believing he was actually gambling. Atleast with Texas Law he can drink all he wants when he's with his parents.  I don't know the case in LA though, but his Dad was with him all Super Bowl weekend.
  • Family is very wealthy, he and his sister got Rolex's for Christmas.

As far as the recruiting class, we had the best one we've had in a long time, but it was 5th best in the SEC West.  5th in OUR DIVISION.  That's how good the SEC is.

Who is hating? I said I like the kid and he is well spoken. The flashing of the money via pics on social media is what I said needs to stop. That is just asking for NCAA investigation. I think we all know nearly every school that gets "investigated" gets punished for something. Hell they got the Gamecocks for players sleeping in hotels instead of dorms.

It's often not the impropriety itself, but the cover-up of said impropriety that causes the actual sanctions to be so bad.

  • Usually the NOLA casinos check ID's, at least they have every time I've been there.  So I doubt he was gambling, much less $500/hand.

The program I'm questioning right now is Ole Miss....what did they do to get a top 5 recruiting class?

Both of my sons, who work in the NFL and I were standing right behind him. The eyes don't lie. As far as Ole Miss goes, only time will tell. Hotty Toddy!

I would have taken a pic with my phone, but when I pulled it out a rather large fellow told me to put it away if I wanted to keep it, and I believed him and put it away. I don't think the casino likes you taking pics inside. :))

If I was a football player, Ole Miss would be appealing to me for sure. I have been to a lot of college cities, and Ole Miss has the best looking ladies by far. I almost went to college there after a UGA/Ole Miss football game in high school. One of the best tailgating school in the country. Not to mention they produce a sneaky amount of NFL players out of that program.

  • The best thing about Ole Miss is that it is close to the best BBQ! :)
  • I'm an SEC guy, KY. No hate here, I love To watch him. Seems like a great kid.

They've been improving a lot. 3 cotton bowls last 10 years. Two of the top 10 recruiters in country. And once convince one top guy it's easier to get more. They convince each other. Not any different than USCe being irrelevant almost entire existence and then getting guys like Lattimore and Clowney

Some of my relatives would say a couple of good things are the Grove and the fact that it's 97 miles from Starkville. =))

You are so right. They came into last year with everyone I talked to saying 500 season would be outstanding (not thinking they could ever get there). Next year will show lots.

  • I have high hopes for next season, but every season is tough in the SEC so I'm being realistic.  When Alabama comes to Kyle Field early in the season it will tell the tale.
