For people weights or for several oz to a couple of lbs food weights?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I need something to measure out accurate amount of ingredients for dry cures.

I have one of these for dry cures. Mostly I use it for mixing epoxies and polyester resins for woodworking.

I have one of these for heavier stuff. http://www.amazon.com/Kitrics-Digital-Nutrition-Scale-Silver/dp/B000U67EI0/ref=sr_1_7?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1357326128&sr=1-7&keywords=diet+scale
The pocket scale has better resolution for weighing out small amounts like yeast for dough, pink salt, etc.

I have this one:and love it. It was recommended by the folks on my pizza-making forum, where precise measurements, taring and baker's percentages are the norm. (it's also a lot less money at Amazon than where I bought it! :-O )_____________

Go to Bed Bath & Beyond. They have them. My brand is OXO International and I like it a lot.I've had it for 6 or 7 years, and still have my original AAA batteries in it.__________________________________________Dripping Springs, Texas.Just west of Austintatious

I read that there are only a few suppliers of load sensors and that the difference between a $20 scale and a $100 scale is mostly cosmetic. I don't know how true it is but tried a few scales in a kitchen store by weighting my car's key and the weight was within a few grams on all of them, since I am not selling drugs it's close enough for me.Gerhard

got mine @ Amazon, free shipping, paid $15. Weighs in ounces and grams to 11 pounds. It has a 6 inch glass platten on it and works fine.Simple ingredients, amazing results!

Digital postal scale from Office Depot, originally bought for weighing Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Cars. This is the exact same scale at Bed Bath and Beyond for four times the cost. The only difference is the box and the decal on the face around the buttons and display. Less than $25.
