First deepdish pizza

Did my first pizza tonight.  Turned out pretty good no complaints from anyone who ate any of it.image

  • Deep dish - great! Did you use cornmeal in your crust? Found a recipe sometime ago using 1/2 cup of cornmeal in the crust, never did that before, made a big difference in the crust texture.

    Looks Good!  Deepdish  pizza is on my list to do.

     

  • I used the recipe on the BGE site.  For the deep dish pizza stone.  It browned up nice but you need at least 4 people to try to eat this thing.

    Guy cooking next to me at the Lexington Eggfest made one and it was great.  He said it was the first one he had ever made.  Of course, he used the deep dish pizza pan from the mothership.
  • I thought about getting the deep dish pan at the Indy EggFest, but my wife suggested using a CI skillet.  Of course I haven't found time to do that.  Thanks for putting that back on the radar!
