I am looking for an option that will serve as my drip pan for 3 butts. 1 pan would be nice. Re-usable would be nice as well.
Thoughts?

What size egg are you using?
-
Could a cheap deep dish pizza pan work?
-
Large, sorry, forgot to include that.
-
A deep dish is a thought. Would have to order it, you don't see deep dishes too often in the south.
-
IMO, one large drip pan would be better than 3. I have been doing a lot of butts for charity work and still working out the kinks.

Click Here But again you may have to order it.

They sell disposable aluminum rectangular pans at most groceries. Don't do what I did and use the nice stuff from the kitchen. I had to sleep on the couch for a week.

It's either Dollar General or Family Dollar store, but I get oval or square aluminum pans there for $1 each. They work perfect as drip pans for me.

Do u have a restaurant supply store in your town. The could have some options.

If you use the v rack, 9.5x13.5" foil pans at the grocery store are the perfect fitKeepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

I personally use the half steam table pans. I get a 30 pack for 6.99. But they are small compared to the grid of a large(10x8x2), and would not accommodate 3 pork butts.

Brownie, those pans look pretty good!NOLa, I tried those, but the coverage was not what I was looking for. I just didn't know if someone knew of a pan that was made that would provide maximum coverage.Mike, I do. I have checked and all their stuff is seriously over sized. I did not think to look at their deep dish pizza stuff, however!Surely I am not the only one that would like 1 pan for 3 or 4 butts??

On a side note, that is some mighty fine looking meat there, Tex! Kinda looks like someone made a pass while mowing the lawn, though! Kidding

I use a 14" clay flower pot saucer thingy & line it with foil.
Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

bud812 Have you ever tried to use one as a deflector? (for indirect cooking with a spider)
Cool idea BTW. How did you come up with it?

The ceramic grill has four size, I was going to order one. Is anyone using this type and if so, do you like them. Thanks
-
I'm not sure it would take the direct heat from the lump fire. I just set it on the plate setter. I learned that one from the TVWBB when I had my WSM.

Cool stuff to know. Thanks for your thoughts. -
I have an 18 inch drip pan from ceramicgrillstore.com that I use on my XL. It works well but can be a pain to clean. Even when I line it with several layers of aluminum foil drippings always seem to work there way down to the pan and get caked on. It is almost easier to use the disposable aluminum pans which others have mentioned. Like Brownie, I also buy the large packs of half size aluminum steam table pans at Sam's. They are handy as drip pans, for food prep, and for cooking in.

I have used the same pans from Wal-Mart
