Looking for some tool
In fact I am looking for some new tools. My current tools are from Weber but I don't like the quality. Its cheap Chinese steel.
What are you thought on the parts of the BGE premium tool set ? (they are probably made in China too

I don't have any of the BGE premium set. They all look nice, with the dark wood handles. However, I can't imagine myself buying the set. The tongs look nice. I read that they are 20" long, which is good. I rarely have any need for a spatula, and when I do, I use a fish spatula. The fish spatula is 9" wide, and good not only for flipping fish, but whole racks of ribs, or lifting cooked pork shoulders, I cant remember when I have used a fork.
I think you would do better buying a good instant read thermometer, and making do w. a cheap 9" pair of tongs.

I would agree. Priority spend would be on Remote Temp monitoring ( Maverick type), Thermapen.
Those are 70-90 a piece.
Not sure what the comparable store would be there, but I got some pretty heavy, long handled spatula, fork, and tongs at Home Depot. They have worked well and not that expensive. My "Heat" gloves are welders gloves. My Grill raiser is 3 Paver Stones.

Congrats on the upcoming BGE. I have a Zwilling grill set that I am thrilled with. Came from either Sur la Table or Williams Sonoma (I can't remember which).
I'm in the minority here, but the day I need a thermometer to tell me when my steak or chicken breast is done is the day I'll turn the cooking over to my wife.

Welcome to the egg forum, there is a lot of great information here.
I really like the tongs. made well and completely happy with them. Especially the length. I do not have the spatula or fork, did not think I would ever use the fork.
Enjoy.

butwhy,
I have the same set that was a gift from williams sonoma. I never broke it out until last weekend for my first BGE cook. Nicely made, the gasser was not worthy of such nice tools!

Welcome to the forum. Glad you enjoy the premium set, I received one as a Father's day gift.Interesting to hear about no one using a fork, which I can understand as I seldom use mine - but - I have found a great use for it, provided it is well made, which the BGE set seems to be.We often do a slow cooked stuffed pork loin, dressed with a running knot of butcher's cord to keep everything together. Found the fork great to slide under the cord, the long tines will catch at least two loops. Makes it really easy to get it off the grill.Delta B.C. - Whiskey and steak, because no good story ever started with someone having a salad!

I get most of my tools from a restaurant supply outlet. They build them to last. Welcome Mhoutman and Congrats on your BGE.

+1 to this. And they tend to be cheaper than those sold for BBQ/grilling use because they're not loaded with bling.
