Altitude

I just bought an egg to use in Wyoming at an altitude of 6800 feet. Are there any suggestions, rules of thumb on timing, etc... for cooking at this altitude?

I grew up in WYO (Casper) and cooked on my old smoker alot there. From what I learned I tried to cook 15 Degrees lower. And water boils at 201F at 6000 Feet.

I imagine people will chime in with there thoughts on this.

I drove from Fairbanks, AK to Gulf Breeze, FL one time and stopped in Casper. The chick working the desk at the hotel was hot and we had a good time. God love Casper, WY.   :ar!
Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.

    HI Dad !!!!
  • I live and cook at 6,080 feet. I have noticed that cooks take much longer than at lower altitudes. A recent 12 pound brisket took 30 hours at 225. I use a CyberQ Wifi to maintain temps.
