Question on cooking Brisket tomorrow for a graduation party.
I have a couple questions that hopefully someone can answer for me fairly soon. I got asked to smoke some brisket for a friend of ours. I have two 11pound whole packers. My first question is will that be enough to feed 30-40 people? My second question is if I smoke them at the same time on XL BGE, will I have to allow more time than the usual 1.5 hours per pound to cook or will they both cook at the same rate. Trying to time it just right so I can FTC then take it to the reception and slice it there. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
Side Note: (The reception starts at 1:00pm on Saturday, but we need to be there by 10:00am to help set up. That's why I figured I could just FTC it and take it with us at 10:00 and then start slicing a little before 1:00pm. I was planning on starting the cook on Friday afternoon around 3:00pm.

They will cook in the same amount of time as if you just had 1.2 briskets is plenty for 30-40 people. If you are worried more people will show, take some buns and make sandwiches. People always eat less meat if you make sammies rather than putting meat on a plate (by half in most cases)When done, wrap them up in foil and throw them in a cooler with some towels. They will stay warm for hours in there. Definitely slice it at the party or it will dry out3PM Friday start is good timingYou are all set.Keepin' It Weird in The ATX FBTX

Sorry it took a while to get back to this thread. One Brisket turned out great the other a little overdone ( which I am sure is not uncommon with brisket). The burnt ends turned out excellent! put em back on the smoker for an hour then mixed a little of my homeade bbq sauce with it and foiled it up. There were no leftovers so I am assuming everybody thought it was okay. Sorry Cen-Tex I can't figure out how to attach a picture with I-Phone , so I am going to have to do it again soon when I figure it out, Thanks for the help and info you provide too this site. -
Pic check. Hope I finally figured this out.
