Costco has $300 off a 12lb A5 Grade ribeye roast coming in at $899.99. Maybe someone in here has the monetary fortitude to snag some of this god beef... Anyone wanna go halvsies?

Ridiculous. At least for me and my wallet. If you got it, spend it and enjoy it I guess, but I don't think I could ever enjoy it enough to justify it.

If I were lebron James I would buy it for you. But I'm not.

I won't buy this for the same reason some won't buy SRF Gold brisket - may make everything else pale in comparison and who wants that when you're perfectly content with the status quo?
Dry aged ribeye from my usual source (www.flannerybeef.com) is $$42/lb.
So nearly double the price.
Oh, and D'Artagnan has it for this price as well.
Maybe the importer is having a sale. It's not like they compete with Costco for customers.

I had the chance to have some A5 back when I was a sous chef at a private golf club. Our Chef was Japanese and had connections. It was reeeeeeediculous.
Back then a strip loin was going for about $400 and that is dating back to 2001.

It works out to roughly $47 for a 10oz steak. That's pricey but not unheard of. We've all paid $50 for a steak dinner that wouldn't hold a candle to this thing.

I think I'd be terrified to actually cook it. I'd probably just take it out of the fridge periodically and look at for a few minutes and then put it back in.
