Quick shot of my medium after 22 straight hours. Filled to the platesetter. This has already been stirred so this does not include ash. Just filled it up again to the brim. Going to clear some smoke and throw on another butt.

Thanks. Nothing crazy. But still amazed after all this time on the medium lump usage.

The only time I have ever used a medium was back in February at the crawfish festival to cook some oysters. Brother Nola brought his and I was real impressed after using it. It cooked and responded identical to my large. No learning curve at all.

I am very impressed with how little lump these eggs use in ANY

Scottie. The meals were great. Did three butts this weekend. Plus all the rest. I have to admit. The medium is a woorkhorse. It doesn't have a lot of room to spread out. And I think the smaller eggs sear bette due to simple geometry. But it is very frugal on lump. I have never run out on a cook. I am getting he XL IN October when I cook at the fest up here. Simply for elbow room. I cook large (in relation) and the medium gets tight. I would buy a vertical reverse flow but I honestly don't need the room.
