I served sliced brisket to my 12 year old for dinner.

You know how some kids cut the crust off their bread? My son decided to cut the bark off his brisket. I showed him the smoke ring and explained that the bark was the best part. He kept on cutting.

I ate every bit he cut off, but boy do I wish he hadn't done that.

I would have had a heart attack on the spot.

Grandkids always take the outside off - too spicy for them. Maybe your 12 year old feels the same.

You should of gave him the "Grows hair on your chest" or the "Grow big and Strong" speech. But then again maybe you should enjoy all the extra food for the time being. Won't be long and he'll be eating holes in your grocery bags.

You guys made me laugh out loud. Thank you!

This is a kid who doesn't like to eat anything. I think he could go days between meals. When he heard my 7 year old (who eats EVERYTHING) raving about it he decided to try it. That was a HUGE victory. He liked it and has actually requested it a few times. So there is hope for him after all.

Once we get past this bark debacle.......
