I’m curious too. I always run my wires through the top vent, can’t keep the temp low enough when I run them under the lid. To answer your question, heck yeah overnight butts are better than oats, ha!1 · -

Get a surface thermometer, very helpful. The surface temp may vary in different areas too. Season it good and I clean mine before and after each use.1 ·
