They do crack but I don't think it is that common. I my eggs for about a year and they didn't have any issues. I replaced them with the high-q because I like the better air flow.1 · -

I agree it should work just fine. I would to to make sure that none of the pan is hanging over the plate setter. If so just use foil or something like a cookie sheet on the plate setter to shield it.2 · -

Just looking at another pic from the interweb: The picture quality is terrible but the angle is good. I think this stand might be okay for this due the way the chimenea is shaped.2 ·
