Agreed on the brown sugar - it's basically sugar mixed with molasses - which makes it too "wet" to add to dry ingredients for storage.1 · -

You can brine it, but I don't think it will do any good. A raw brisket is tough and thick and fatty. Rub it down, refrigerate until the rub gets wet, and smoke that hunk o' beef until tende…1 · -
