Indirect and yes most people use a pizza stone. A typically set up is plate setter legs up, grid, stone on the grid. If you can put something under the stone to raise the grid that is even better.1 · -

No worries about the pyrex but I personally like meatloaf better straight on the grid. where the fat can drain. I have a shallow baking rack that I use.4 ·
